Paris, France – The fashion house KARL LAGERFELD is pleased to announce that iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has designed a bespoke outfit for American singer Selena Gomez’s “Revival” world tour. Created exclusively for her to wear in performance, the couture ensemble has been exquisitely handcrafted with more than 12,000 pearls and glittering sequin embroideries.
The outfit is comprised of a silk muslin dress paired with black vinyl leggings, and is accessorized with embellished blue fingerless gloves. The dress mixes black and silver tones with matte and metallic finishes for a stunning mirrored effect. It’s textured with various prints and embossments, and finished with seed beads in both dense and lightly dispersed gradients. The outfit took over 200 hours to create and was designed at the Paris atelier of Lagerfeld’s namesake fashion brand.
“I love her music – it’s very strong,” said Karl Lagerfeld about Selena Gomez. “I am both happy and proud that I could help her to look great on her Revival Tour.”
“I put on the actual costume when it was done and I was just completely blown away,” said Selena Gomez. “It makes me feel so badass. It’s the best feeling in the world.”
Selena Gomez’s “Revival” tour opens on May 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will include 110 shows worldwide over the coming eight months. She will wear her bespoke KARL LAGERFELD dress during the “Metropolis/Technology” act of her show, during which she will perform six numbers, including her current hit “Hands to Myself.” The remainder of Selena Gomez’s tour looks have been curated by her personal stylist and fashion director, Christian Classen.
Selena Gomez, 23, is a singer and actress who began her career as the lead on the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2008 she formed the band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which recorded three studio albums, and in 2013 she introduced her first solo album, Stars Dance. In 2015 she released Revival, which debut at number one in the U.S. and has included three Top 10 singles.
