Lodz, Poland – In exploring the depths of black & white, the designers behind Odio X Pieczarkowski have taken us to the roots of their work. For Fall Winter 2016/17 they present with a collection full of signature touches they are so known for.
The rawness of each silhouette creates a lasting impression with the diverse mixture of patterns, textures and forms. The basic shapes become complex by using a multitude of effects. We find a wide range of details such as applications, embroideries and prints that create the complicated designs. There are no rules here. The garments are made of pieces of materials even such as foam, towels or turnbuckles.
The small shreds are loosely combined to get the trashy and dramatic effect like from a horror story or from the fantasy land of Asian anime. The models are transformed into creatures from another world because each garment totally transforms the body many times without holding to the human body. The use of only basic black and white emphasises the work, and there creates a more striking drama.
The avant-garde concept and the colors make the clothes look dusty, dirty or decaying. As a whole the duo is presenting some on of their best works yet.
