Lodz, Poland – This season Grzegorz Marcisz has decided to expand his ZWYRD brand by including a womenswear line. It is every bit the reflection of the menswear. The new ZWYRD woman is cut from the same cloth as her male counterpart.

ZWYRD is for an urban male with an increasingly growing dangerous edge. Though colorful, the new Fall Winter 2016/17 collection has a hints of grunge, Japanese manga and sportswear. The three combine for a very unique energy that defines Maricisz’s work. The grand irony to this is that the artistic director’s own personal style is far from that of the clothes he makes. He in fact is more of that of a man who is unassuming of the thrills and frills of fashion. He in essence comes off as incredibly calm and perhaps even a bit aloof when seen behind his gentle smile and his iron rimmed glasses.

This collection is a milestone for Grzegorz Marcisz. In it he more than confirms his own visual aesthetic. It comes off as a battle cry for a young rebel with cause to champion. And he does do with bold colors and materials that include wool felt, neoprene, jersey, etc.
