Novi Sad, Serbia – After a successful first unveiling of his work in the United States at the New York Fashion Week, Serbian designer Bata Spasojevic has made his return to the location that originally put him on the track to American glory. At the Master Centre in Novi Sad, the designer satisfied the very high expectations held by the near 1000 persons who crowded into the main show hall. All had come to support their champion and to see the very same Fall Winter 2016/17 collection that introduced him to the Big Apple a month before his Serbia showing.
Bata Spasojevic did not dispense with alacrity in giving the audience of fashion editors, buyers, celebrities and front row VIPs what they want. We find the full range of his various cuts and shaped on the catwalk in both the menswear and womenswear lines. In each he mixes the relax feel of athletic inspirations into the domination of urban chic. Outerwear is super important. Spasojevic also adds asymmetrical cuts and other very remarkable details such as large pockets, very long zippers and large buttons.
Black is of course Spasojevic’s natural go to color. To it we find emerald green and hints of gold added. They’ve been added to boxy shoulders of the coats, slimming pants, etc. It is interested how the designer is able to work them into both lines. He also creates lots of printed T-shirt like tops for men and also into the dresses for women.
