Lodz, Poland – For Spring/Summer 2017 designer Neil Barrett reinvents the classical vintage style and with a twist British inspirations.
Though Neil Barrett is clearly into retro this season, he has modernised and reinterpreted his collection to suit the customers needs. The silhouette is a defined waistline with cropped tops and straight legged pants. There’s also noticeable play with volumes around the torso with oversized sweatshirts, bombers and jackets laying on more fitted garments.
Each set consists of the fundamental basics like high-waisted trousers, denim, leather, t-shirts, shirts and jackets. One can surely see inspirations with the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s throughout the whole work. Much focus is played on the arms, which drop downward a little bit, are structured and even kimo-like.
The American influence on British fashion is visible in the collection. The geometric prints are inspired by the wooden parquet is added on jackets, pants and shirts. For a casual feel a fine color palette is selected with cognac, gold, tan, chocolate, dark orange, blues, white and indigo. To finish it of accessories include sneakers, handbags and sunglasses.
