Paris, France – In a return to Paris and in a solo effort, Italian couturier Antoni Grimaldi reinterprets through his creations the story of the mythical Icarus. Using faded pastel colors, he creates a happy ending for the Grimaldi woman.
The new Fall Winter 2016/17 collection is about wearable sculptures. The silhouettes are all long with maxi lengths and with variations on proportions. The shapes are achieved through the couturier’s use cady crepe fabrics and which have been lined with organza. This allows for the creation of volume.
The colors include light gray and lilac. Antoni Grimaldi also employs faux feathers made tulle, silver fil de cuir and lamé. Other details include hand-painted ostrich feathers. And of course he uses oversized yarns to create compelling embroideries for the collection.
