Paris, France – Taking its inspiration from the Santon figurines fashion label, the Paris-based fashion house Jacquemus presents a modern approach for Spring/Summer 2017. It is a homage to the traditions of the South of France.
Jacquemus presents 32 looks focusing on clean lines and delicacy. The main shape is the triangle with v-neck necklines, powerful shoulders, cuffs and A-line bottoms. Present are also square masculine lines in jackets, shirts and pants. One can see the one of the hottest, faddish detail: the ruffle. The substantial sleeves recalls of musketeers presented in various forms on tops and bottoms. They create a subtly romantic or cold dramatic effect. Each silhouette takes a different approach to modern women from the wild bohemian to saintly majestic so as in the inspiration behind the work.
Jacquemus created genius contrasts in the proportions and volumes. Other fine details worth mentioning are pleats, polka dot prints, embroideries and also folding techniques use to create the modern lines.
The fabrics used are cotton, wool, lace and linen. The palette used is neutral with black, white, beige, brown, navy and red. The accessories range from hats, belts, flats, heels and pumps. Mission accomplished the final result combines traditional costumes with modern clarity.
