Paris, France – Julie Paskal sees Spring/Summer 2017 as the season for her to bring architecture and movement together into one united force for fashion. The new collection has her offering new inspirations. And she makes it all possible with a lovely dose of humour.
Dresses of varying lengths dominate the work. We find small circular disks cut into the fabric. As the silhouette is set in motion, a very strong kinetic energy is created. After an initial flirting with black sheaths worn over pieces created with neon green , we see her introduce a very pure pink. This section sees ruffle embellishments integrated into a selection of the dresses and other pieces. They along with the long string tassels form a secondary leitmotif in terms of detailing. In fact one dress is composed of pink and orange, bouncing tassels.
The micro halter top exchanged places very often with sleeveless shapes in the collection. The sleeveless numbers are varied. One of the best looks happens to be a very lovely dress in bold pink. It is off the shoulder, has large sleeves and thin spaghetti straps to hold it on the shoulder.
Texture is also important. We see the designer passing back and forth between woven, sheers and technical materials. And Julie Paskal also creates her own designs for shoes this season. The collection has very strong flats and sandals that have the ruffle details.
