Paris, France – A collection we all have been looking forward to since last July, when Johanna Senyk – the brain behind WANDA NYLON – won the prestigious ANDAM Award. This is a competition also won by major names such as Martin Margiela and Iris van Herpen. So naturally expectations on Wanda Nylon are high. The brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection features 28 strong looks for independent feminine women.
The aesthetic of the Spring/Summer 2017 collection is as far-out as we are used from Wanda Nylon. However, once you look beyond the eccentric styling and pay attention to the essence of the looks, there are lots of perfect statement pieces for fashion-forward women of the world. It leans towards urban aesthetics and creates a mixture of materials and textures in order to emphasize the collections’ playfulness with light.
Real head-turners we spotted include metallic leather pieces, reflective jackets and beautiful shimmering waterfall earrings. Some of the other favorite pieces of the Spring/Summer 2017 collection of Wanda Nylon are opaque Alcantara coats, fluid silk dresses, iridescent Swarovski crystals mesh separates and see-through silk looks. As for the accessories: the bucket hats and sunglasses dripping in bejeweled chains were quite a sight for the eye as well.
It is clear that Johanna Senyk wants to make a statement in the world, and this is just the beginning. We cannot wait more to see more of her boundary-pushing, futuristic explosion of ideas turning into reality!
