St. Petersburg, Russia – Bukhinnik has a very carefree manner of envisioning the Spring/Sumer 2017 season to come. The house takes lighthearted and fun elements that are easily associated with the glee a kids party or even with the magic of the circus. They are put forth a very humorous opus of attractive garments. This results in a body of work that is curiously optimistic.
This new collection sees straight cut trousers and total looks presented. The pants vary in proportions and cuts. Some are as tight as leggings, while others are straight cut with just a hint of volume. They appear in bold, summery colors that also include prints. The looks are often worn with distinctive t-shirts.
A mixture of practical textures have been called upon. Though ordinary in the hands of many designers, Bukhinnik has managed to transform them into unique and daring pieces such as the button-down night gown shirt worn with trousers in pied de poule and matching vest. Some of the collars have a layered bib for dramatic effect or even a frasier neck.
For the first time we see a couple of options for the ladies. One features a sportswear look in black and features a windbreaker inspired jacket.
The collection includes some prints such as florals and folklorique motifs. They are mixed into a work that is dominated by urban wear pieces. And just to be clear, there are a lot of vest included in the collection. Later we see a safety piece in jacquard included in the collection. However the piece that this writer adores if the black jumpsuits with the safety pins.
