St. Petersburg, Russia – Rudermell makes it entrance into the St. Petersburg Fashion Week with a new energy for a new season. This collection takes clean, natural and earthly elements and reshapes them into a consistent work for the Spring/summer 2017 season.
The work at Rudermell is all about the silks. First we see raw silks that have been treated in neutral tones. We see a sleeveless dress that flair a bit from the waist downwards as the reach fruition. Handmade appliqués are then use to embellish each of the looks. Smooth silk is all that is needed to take us from after five and into the night. The long dresses and gown flow with no effort. Just a hint of kinetic energy is required to set them in motion. This is where we see the introduction of white. The work remains close to the principal shapes that define the overall body of work.
Later in the collection we find our first ensemble with pants. Pressed cotton blend, they are worn with a silk top. The shirt’s is equipped with a cape-like back. It is formed from giant-sized, soft pleats. They pleating is born in the lower shoulder blades of the piece.
