Riga, Latvia – Dace Bahmann should be feeling very well pleased with the outcome of her fashion show with her new Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Her show at the Riga Fashion Week presented her with the opportunity to show how well she manages to combine and balance simplicity and flair with sportswear and femininity.
The dresses, top, pants and coats are treated to the dominant trend in which ruffles are applied. However many designers who work with the trend this season rendered work that seems far too forced and even as last minute emergency add-ons. Yet Dace Bahmann ‘s use of the ruffles seems to have been initiated at the very conception of the pieces. The automatically makes for silhouettes in which the ruffles seem natural and innate.
The pieces forming the silhouettes are for the most part very simple. However the more striking garments come in the outerwear. The coats have large proportions and volumes. In a variety of colors, they are made very interesting and appreciable thanks to their puffy sleeves and balance. And let’s face it, when most designers try to add something new to their work, they often fail at bringing about balance to the overall body of work. Here Dace Bahmann makes no such error as this. She therefore should be very well pleased !
