Antwerp, Belgium – The Danish brand Ecco seems to have presented a collection more suitable for the needs of Fall/Winter instead of for the Spring/Summer season. In it we find an endless plethora of coats, which in essence are extremely commercial. Yet they are very consumer friendly, including the collarless coat dress in blush with satin cuffs.
In the silhouettes we find some handbags and purses. But they do not appear in the quantities or even in the colors that would lend the collection a bit of distinction.
At fashion weeks outside of Paris, London and Milan it is an appropriate thing to see commercial brands sharing the catwalks with the collections presented by those of emerging designers. However when such is the case, it would behoove the brand’s management to hire a qualified stylist whose skills could be use to bring some pizazz and excitement to what will be shown on the runway. This would be to the benefit not only of the brand, but also to the organizers of the fashion week and to the audience members who inevitably sit through the shows in the hopes of seeing something new and / or exciting.
