Milan, Italy – For this Spring Summer 2017 season, Santoni has called upon the talents of Olivier Zahm for its new campaign. The French art director and photographer conceived an unconventional campaign, inspired by cinematographic references, starring a great Maurizio Cattelan, perfect interpreter of Santoni’s style.
“For the new Santoni SS17 collection, it was my pleasure to shoot the Italian contemporary artist Maurizio Cattelan to be the face of Santoni, one of the most luxurious Italian shoe brands”, said Zahm.
He went on to comment, “Maurizio is not only an elegant man, who loves style and fashion, he is playful and smart. As he is also quite an actor, I was inspired to see him act for Santoni in a visual story inspired by some of my favorite movie posters from the 60s and 70s (‘The Graduate’ with Dustin Hoffman, 1967, ‘The Man Who Loved Women’ by François Truffaut, 1977). Maurizio is also very stylish himself, and wears Santoni shoes in his day-to-day life… So it was natural to shoot him, interacting with and looking at the beautiful legs of women wearing the spring/summer Santoni Collection.”
With his natural and effortless elegance, Maurizio Cattelan plays with female legs that evoke a sophisticated and chic woman. The playful atmosphere is emphasized by the pastel colors used as a background of the six pictures.
