Lodz, Poland – Fall Winter 2017/18 is all about the volume and mixing garments. True to its DNA powerhouse Diesel’s Diesel Black Gold line presents a bold collection during Fashion Week in Milano.
In it we find a veritable mix of oversized pieces. There is plenty of details to excite the eye. And off course the rebellious energy surrounding each set is well visible. The fabrics are chunky or crisply mixed for a more complex whole. The collection looks a little sporty yet has the spirit of a grungy rock star. The jackets, coats, parkas and pants are baggy, but not exaggerated. The sweatshirts and shirts are simplistic but are combined with leather jackets and robe inspired coats. The outfits look best in complex multiple layers.
The colors are reduced to a minimum palette with black, grey and navy. There are not many prints to be found in this collection. However the sets consist of one solid color. More focus is on the fabric, construction and details. The interesting details include large badges, quilting, visible zippers and contrasting white lining.
Diesel Black Gold gives us the expected textures for the season. The fabrics used are cotton, knits, synthetics, fur and leather. There are visible effect of the 90s and the military trends. Shoes used are chunky army boots. With so many pleasing to the eye garments the new work will be a commercial success for the brand.
