Milan, Italy – OMG! How very well nice it is to be able to see the work of a designer who is wholely dedicated to the craft of uniting fashion, art and skill together. This is the calling of Italian designer Antonio Marras. And season after season, he does not disappoint. His work for his men’s outing is not different.

The Fall Winter 2017/18 collection by Antonio Marras is one that stays on point from start to finish. We see a wardrobe designed for a man or rather a true city dweller who understands the codes of luxury details, style and practicality. These are elements around which the designer has constructed his vision for the season.

His understanding of the aforementioned criteria leads him to created rugged base silhouettes of urban wear and of sartorial tailoring that have been duly enhanced with strong embellishments. Among them are embroideries, fringes, patches. They appear throughout the collection on the coats, the blazers, quilted kilts, jackets, the pants, sweaters, etc. Antonio Marras even counterbalances these visuals (that some may consider more on the feminine side of fashion) with his raw use of fur.  And one must also note that it is not a common thing to see leopard prints used in a color palette for menswear. But this designer knows well his market.

In his tradition of sartorial clothes making, we find suits that are easy to understand (though in very VISIBLE prints). And Antonio Marras presents various options in terms of proportions and lengths for his trousers. They can all be dressed up or toned down by mixing a matching the looks with other individual pieces in the collection.

PS:  One should also check out the accessories created by Antonio Marras for the season. Among my favorites are the variety of hats and the shoes !
