Paris, France – In its new work for the Fall Winter 2017/18 season, fashion house Icosae has decided to lead where it left off last summer. The new collection is titled “blood is thicker than water”. This is the notion through which the house seeks to explore family ties and as it attempts to set the mindset for a collection meant for a man who is intended to be stronger, sharper, delicate and sensitive.
In terms of actual physical representation, the collection is dark and edgy. The silhouettes feature long coats, lightly tailored suits, oversized coats and denim pieces. The pants range from semi-baggy to slim fits. The jeans lack distinction and therefore make for very easy elements that can fit into most wardrobes. The construction of the more structured pieces such as the suit jackets lack the overt sophistication of extremely established men’s brands. However this may prove to be a benefit for younger consumers who do not wish to be considered as strict in their appearance.
Black is the color that overwhelming dominated the color palette. However there are hints of surprises. For example Icosae goes for a bold move by including a long, slendering coat in silver metallic threads. This is very unexpected once one considers the entire collection. The house then moves on to toss in a vividly red coat long winter coat. Here we see a hugely oversized set of lapels. Icosae also uses thin ribbons of the French national bleu, blanc, rouge to embellish and even unite the body of work into a collective whole. It even appears as sleeve garters in some of the looks.
It is important to note that Icosae has achieved its goal of constructing a more clear image of the house’s aesthetics. There can be no doubt that they at Icosae are working to please the tastes of urbanites. And they want a street combined with a bit of flair.
