Paris, France – At fashion house Ellery, we find an eclectic mix of shapes, proportions and colors coming together to bring order from a potential mix of chaos. The new Fall Winter 2017/18 collection sees a grand experiment in bringing about a sense of harmony to elements and ideas that some may find on opposing sides.
Ellery ‘s exercise in fashion creation starts with the selection of materials. We find a wide range including natural silks, wools, mink, fox, coyote, velvet, cordoroy, lace, knitwear and mesh lurex that must accept the presence of embellishing ostrich feathers and patented leathers. A gloss is given to silks. Together with the patented leathers an air of sleekness is created in the pieces.
It is a grand idea to juxtapose the cosetry and barely there, off-the-shoulder tops that reveal the midriff and lower back. It is odd to see such creations mixed in with wintry materials and heavy furs. But hey, as we all know seasons are dead at this point.
MAJOR TREND: The slim, short-cut trousers with the sudden bell shape just below the knees..
