Paris, France – The natural phenomenon known as Aurora Borealis serves as the inspiration behind the enchanting collection by the famous fashion house Issey Miyake.
The spectacular beauty of the garments is created by a sophisticated usage of fabrics. A combination of different textures, colors and materials create a futuristic effect in which the human body then becomes a walking form of art. Raw wool is dyed in 5 colors and combined into a single thread. Another effect is the plasma baked stretch look achieved by covering the material with special glue. This results in a visual spectacle when the materials are seen in the proper lighting. Another option used to create the 3d effects are the Auroras Steam stretch. The modifications of the fabrics created 3d effects, pleats and vertical stripes.
The tops, dresses, coats and skirts are in irregular forms reminding petals to enhance the color effects. The lines are soft, delicate yet not defining the silhouette. The garments dance majestically with the kinetic movement of the models.
This season Issey Miyake collaborates with United Nude to create its shoes. There are the Wave, whose soles change color depending on the angle from which they are seen and Buzz, sneakers with a unique white corrugated sole. The shimmering Aurora effects will attract the audience with its enigmatic, unusual character.
