If you think Bella Hadid looked gorgeous on Alexander Vauthier’s runway, you definitely need to check out the designer’s ultra-sleek lookbook for Fall/Winter 2017/2018 ready-to-wear collection. She graces the photos created by talented David Bellemere and portrays Vauthier’s natural need of precision rigor and radical cuts. The dramatic body language emulates that of the early 1990’s when the supermodels ruled the world of fashion. This energy additionally contributes to the chic look Vauthier designes for the following Fall/Winter season. Both Bella and the presented pieces look absolutely stunning!

Off-the-shoulder dresses, cinched waists and power glamour are not necessarily reserved for Balmain. It is a more than successful formula that too works for the grand couturier.  “You can see the DNA of the couture collection’, Vauthier explains. ‘You can see the graphics with the different fabrics. Remember we did the blue skirts with the velvet dress for couture…

“This is the little sister’, he stated referring to a bustier mini dress. ‘We changed the stones to sequins so we can feel the spirit of the brand. Ready-to-wear is, in fact, a way to wear the clothes from the brand with the DNA’, he concluded.

At first sight, one might see a variety of different choices, but all the pieces correspond very well. Sequins have replaced Swarovski crystals from the previous collection. Tweed gives the new collection a more couture feel while the ivory canab, cable-knit sweater, electric blue jacket or a simple pair of perfectly cut pants create an off-duty, relaxed look. Even though Bella looks like a total femme fatale, the pieces are actually quite comfy. However, they will still make you feel super dressed up, no matter what the occasion.

The collection also carries the spirit of 1980’s. In this we identity subtle haute couture flirtations, slim-fit shapes and puffed sleeves, tailored tweed coats, sleeveless mini dresses and sporty zip-up jackets. It is refreshing and seductive at the same time. It will surely bring you back to the early editorial works of Patrick Demarchelier and serve as a classical reminiscence of George Michael’s glorious tune Too Funky ! . Freedom is, perchance, the light motif of the collection; freedom to be daring, audacious, vamp and captivating. It is bella, indeed!
