Milan, Italy – In the new Versace menswear collection for Spring/Summer 2018, one can feel straight away the easy-going, passionate and fresh vibe present through the whole presentation. The leading motif is pinstripes that are presented in various forms and combinations. They are mixed, clashed or contrasted to create some excitement. Other designs include crowns, signature logos, lozenges, Greek drawings, “Balletto” and “Angelo” prints.
The words of the iconic Donatella Versace we sum up the whole idea of this masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship: “This collection is like a homecoming. It’s about the passions that define Versace, the complexity of men, the energy of today.”
In capturing our attention, we see a huge selection of modern shirts made of silk in many forms cropped and many times made out of two separate pieces.
The suit jackets have defined power arms and defined waist. The pants come in many forms including cargo shorts for men & silky pants and dress pants cut above the ankle. From the dressy, elegant side of the brand we go to the more casual side with luxury pyjamas and soft sportswear. The men’s power is presented in substantial coats, biker and bomber jackets. The softer side shines through in romantic details and delicate materials used silk and cotton velour. The richness of ideas present the power of Versace include embroideries, crystals, asymmetry, zippers, diagonal cuts, small chains, patchwork effects and washed out denim.
Accessories include the brand new Manifesto watch, sneakers, bandanas, socks, backpacks, clutches, loafers, mens leather wallet, slippers, ties and caps. The color pallets uses black, white, striking red, navy, grey, gold, pastel pink and blue. The fabrics are mostly silk, denim, cotton, leather and technical materials.
