Paris, France – In Paris the Belgian fashion house AF Vandevorst made its debut on the official haute couture calendar. In its first attempt at couture, we see that it opts for a more practical approach. For Fall Winter 2017/18, it proposes pieces and looks that are wearable; but that at the same time, they maintain the edgy penchant for which the house is known.
Wool, velvet and patented lambskin leather are used in to craft the pieces. The outer coats are well tailored to fit. The trousers vary in proportions ranging from baggy to skin-tight like leggings. Beyond the floral and animal prints (tiger and leopard), we find lots of embellishments to make the collection what it is. Military influences are found in the cord embroideries which ornate the jackets and pants.
