Paris, France – It took this writer a minute to get into the whole of Antonio Ortega ‘s work. Now that we have all had several seasons to fully get acquainted with and to digest his work, we understand it better. And in it, we see the makings of a fine couturier who is filled with confidence and with original ideas.

Antonio Ortega champions a kind of couture whose sole purpose is to be worn and to be appreciated by a modern clientage of women who opt for an energetic form of individual style. This designer gives us that and more. He has built his new couture collection for Fall/Winter 2017/18 around a game of tartans, felted wool and leathers. He has shaped them in contemporary shapes for daywear that give great honor to the woman’s body. He skilfully does so in a manner that avoids taking a path that would have his work qualified as a dreaded caricature.

We have a great appreciation for his tops created in leather squares that are held together by circular, metallic loops.
