Paris, France – For Fall Winter 2017/18 haute couture’s artist, Franck Sorbier, has prepared a collection rich in DNA. In this new adventure, we see the grand couture bringing materials such as silks, feathers, embroideries and sheers together into an intricately done body of creations.

Franck Sorbier creates both volume and movement at the bottom of his skirts as dresses. However, he opts to keep the top portion of the silhouettes close to the body. In many of them we find a short faux-col or even Mandarin-inspired necklines. He relies on a dark palette of black for the base of his creations. To them, he adds wild bursts of kaleidoscopic colors which appear in the fabrics, in the braided appliqués and in the hand-painted materials such as silk.  Of the looks, we enjoy most the look that gives a new interpretation of metal work. Worn over a black dress, the end result of a metal cage and sprockets could lead us into calling this creation an “iron lady” or even a “clockwork” look.
