Washington, DC (US) – It is no surprise that Lebanese couturiers continue to reign supreme in the couture world. As one of the region’s biggest names, Zuhair Murad continues to firmly hold his place on the throne by consistently breathing new world glamour into his frothy, ethereal, flowing creations. His new Fall-Winter 2017/2018 collection has many versions of what has become a red carpet staple: the “naked dress”.

These pieces are softly married with tulle, lace appliqués, beading and intricate handmade embroidery work. The jumpsuits take on alluring personalities complimented with open back capes. They are sprinkled with luscious details that includes velvet that is adorned with fabulous crystals, metallic closures and have been kissed with ostrich feathers.

The soft floral patterns layered on pastel colors allude to a Romanesque time, yet leans towards a Renaissance feel. The house masterfully uses Grecian draping and pleating to accentuate delicate feminine silhouettes. Zuhair Murad ensures that emphasis is placed on the décolletage and plunging, sexy, key hole backs.

Boleros give just an extra touch of flow and pizzazz. As tradition can often go the show closes with a jaw dropping bridal ensemble.
