Bucharest, Romania – Both the men’s and women’s collections that Tarnava presents for Fall Winter 2017/18 at the Romanian Fashion Philosophy this season tend to be extremely commercial. The purpose of a fashion show is to demonstrate the most exciting ideas and creative genius of a designer (or of a creative director and his/her team). Here Tarnava seems to have mostly ignored that fact and presents only commercial pieces that generally are reserved for showing in a showroom to large standard buyers. Commercial looks have an important role to play at all fashion houses in any collection. Afterall their success is what truly keeps a fashion house in business thanks to their massive sales appeal. Nonetheless here we are…
Though nothing truly creative emerges from Tarnava ‘s collection, nothing can take away the fact that the house has created a look that has gained the particular interest of this writer. It is the dress with long bottom in solid blue and its long-sleeved, blue and white striped top that has the most potential. When many see it, it could be your normal average ensemble for a librarian. In other words, it is understated. But it also has the power to become far more. With the right accessories and worn by a very slender woman, it has the potential to ooze cool and irresistible sex appeal !
