Paris, France – This wildly popular young Chinese house started by the rising star Masha Ma, cut her teeth while assisting Alexander McQueen.  Mashama puts a spin on the vision of the future using glitch patterns and irregular pleats, and like other masters uses tech textiles and materials to execute a slightly unexpected twist on classics and updated streetwear.

In her Spring/Summer 2018 collection the designer takes inspiration from traditional qipao and dudou. With them she transforms body con dresses into modern silhouettes with updated statement necklines.   In collaboration with Kolon Sport, she places heavy emphasis on bell sleeve suiting; tailored and layered under outwear.

Pinstripes are featured in men’s tailored jackets creating strong lines blended with soft florals. Neon colors provide just the right amount of pop leading into the collection’s source of inspiration, whch comes from Wong Kar-wai’s film 2046 – “When the peony blooms she stands straight and tall”.
