Paris, France – It is at the Palais de Tokyo where Rahul Mishra gives us a rendez-vous for the discovery of his new and purely delightful work for the Spring/Summer 2018 season. We impatient guests were well rewarded for the wait once the music started and the models took to the runway.
In this collection, Rahul Mishra strikes a decidedly womanly and carefree tone. This spirit invades each of the dresses with their spaghetti straps, plunging necklines, angular edges and mid-section revealing cuts. He uses colorful swathes and mixes of color to bring life to his creations in a way that makes even the stronger fan of neutral tones into a true believer. The result is an optimistic opus that breathes of an air of femininity.
During the show Jelena Jankovic, finalist at Roland Garros and the world’s former N° 1 female tennis player and who sat front row at the show, could not express enough her enthusiasm for Rahul Mishra’s work. She personally mused to this writer how much she wanted to take everything from the collection not for her friends, but for herself !
The allure of the collection arises from several factors among which are the cuts, colors and fabrics. This latter use skilfully used in unexpected combinations that causes one to experience a visual experience. In that experience, we a person in her late teens quickly evolve into a young lady of taste before finally becoming a woman with a subtle innate sexiness in her airs, her movement and overall persona.
