Paris, France – Chic. Strength. Polished. Elegance. Modern. Actual. Subtlety with sex appeal. This amalgamation of descriptive adjectives and nouns resume what we find intrinsic to the Spring/Summer 2018 collection at Martin Grant. Large cut pants legs in jumpsuits, spaghetti straps on the shoulders of tops and impressive proportions cut with pure lines are how the designer expresses his passions for Spring/Summer 2018.
Indigo on soft denim forms the irresistible duo through which Martin Grant brings to life some of his creations. Through them he accomplishes total looks of baggy trousers with huge cuffs and a matching, tailored blazer and that have been cut with long length in mind. We see the giant cuffs returning again and again in other cuts such as his indigo jumpsuit and more slim cut jeans. And indigo too appears in a number of pieces such as a long skirt, dress, etc.
This collection is also about standout pieces. Among the ones that are favorites for this writer include the metallic silver cape; the hot pink oval coat; the green wrap skirt that reveals more leg than one could possibly every hope for; and the short numbers with movement. This latter involve the couple of dresses created with fringes. Their kinetic energy breaks up the mood and provides something most unexpected to this body of work.
