Paris, France – The new American couturier Kithe Brewster has re-emerged this season with a strong “atelier” collection that displays his adoration of femininity with a hint of drama. As most couture enthusiasts know by now, Kithe Brewster built a name for himself as a top stylist to the stars. Among his more “well-known” former clients are Béyoncé, Julianne Moore and Heidi Klum. Now in his first showing during the official couture week, he has managed to set tongues wagging in anticipation of his new work for Fall Winter 2018/19.
This season he has decided to find inspiration from Rome during the 1st Century. In it we find his familiar shapes and forms that are brought into existence thanks to his prefered draping technique. With it he has called upon beautiful silks, leather and python skin to bring his thoughts into the physical world. This results in seductive, feminine and voluminous pieces that for the most part guarantee a wide level of freedom of movement — an INDISPENSABLE right of today’s modern couture client. And all save the gloves and two additional looks, the arms are nearly always revealed.
The Kithe Brewster Atelier collection for Fall Winter 2018/19 gives a quick wink of the eye to those elements that can nearly only be found in haute couture. He has tossed in a bit of hand embroidery and even a hand-painted imagery.
Though most of the looks are created with cocktail and evening events in mind, Kithe Brewster has not neglected his clients who step out into public before 6:00pm. However in one such look of these rare daywear looks — most notably his black tailleur with pants — we look forward to seeing gradual improvements to his structured pieces. Afterall, the world of couture is all about the unrelenting pursuit of perfection and even in the most minute of details.
