Paris, France – In Paris the Polish designer Eva Minge returned to the catwalks after a certain absence. With her she has brought what is easily her best work to date for her couture line. Granted, the collection would have a stronger overall impact were she to engage with a skilled fashion editor to properly edit bits the collection before it hits the runway. However that said, she still manages to easily capture our attention and earn our applause.
Eva Minge is a superstar back home in her country. She is credited with actually giving her native Poland a voice and an international image abroad not only throughout Central and Eastern Europe, but also in Italy and France. Lace, silk and tweed are the majority building blocks of this opus for Fall Winter 2018/19. She crafts with them body-hugging silhouettes that reveal both the shoulders and the arms. And as Ms. Minge likes to dress women in sexy attire, she has included plunging necklines and high splits for that added element of drama. She embellishes them with embroideries, crystals and air-light feathers.
In a couture calendar that is saturated with superstar designers who are already considered as giants in the glamour, draping and other technical fields (i.e. Ralph & Russo, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Georges Hobeika, Rami al Ali, etc.), Eva Minge is better able to compete thanks to her day wear. She offers for Fall Winter 2018/19 amply cut trousers, dresses, dress-coats, short ensembles and coats. Some looks are paired up with beautifully flowing blouses in iridescent silk.
With this collection Eva Minge has achieved a higher level of recognition for her efforts in couture. And she therefore now has the responsibility of keeping the momentum going and even surpassing her own best efforts where her future couture collections are concerned.
