Paris, France – TheFashionInsider.com is proud to present for the first time in our official haute couture coverage the designer Imane Ayissi. A longtime veteran of the catwalks of Paris, his work has quietly gained full attention and our admiration over the last several seasons.
In his latest work, Ayissi truly leaves behind the world of ready-to-wear and gains entry into the elite world of couture with his boldly feminine designs that are anchored by his work in day wear and in cocktail wear. He skillfully gives his European des!gns a true touch of “Mother Africa” through his creative use of fabrics, colors and patterns. Through them, we find a refreshingly modern take on fashion that would leave the likes of Issey Miyake and Kenzo Takada — famed designers known for their fascination with African prints — with huge and joyous smiles. And through the eyes of Imane Ayissi, couture can finally say that all continents are finally well represented.
The best looks in the collection without a scintilla of doubt come to us again in the day wear. Practical but elegant dresses in abstract patterns, sharply cuts jackets, pencil cut skirts and pantsuits set the runway afire ! We simply cannot get enough of them. For parties, Imane Ayissi gives us several options created with huge sequins. He finishes these particular looks with over jackets done in fabrics with distinctive African patterns.

The last thing that we must mention about this work is that Imane Ayissi’s skill in structured wear. His seems to have a true talent and an eye for constructing the shoulder work in his jackets. After all, a jacket is nothing without that special attention that goes into the construction of the shoulders. And here, this couturier does not disappoint.
