He creates various shapes in order to display the options that women have for showing off their figure.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The work this season is generally about the sheath dress and the bustier sheath gown. Alexis Mabille interprets them in crepe, duchess satin, organza, lace, etc. Their multitude of colors range from aquamarine, flesh tone, sea-green and putty to celestial blue, sulfur yellow, white, etc.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">When it comes to his details, Mabille likes to go large. So be on the look out for the large collars on the coats, the large bows and the large capes. He has creatively employed the last in various ways to create new options such as folded wings for some pieces. The looks composed of the button-down blouse and the long, sheath skirt is without pause one of the strongest among the many appealing ideas proposed. His secret is quite simple. This collection is about the intimacy that exist between his imagination and the women for whom he creates. He has dedicated it to the women who have inspired him through the years. Whether she is an actrice, artist, dancer, singer or supermodel, each is an icon in her own right.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Some of these women are Bérénice Béjot (actrice), Audrey Maurnay (supermodel), Dita von Teese (dancer), Mounia Orosemane (muse & legendary supermodel), Lis Van Velthoven (model), Leslie Caron (legendary actrice and dancer), Marie-Agnès Gillot (ballet dancer & choreographer), Marie Beltrami (artist) and Morgane Dubled (model).</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The sheath dress is most recurring shape in the collection. It is embellished at times with giant bow or small embroidered butterflies while at other times with crystals and raining beadings. However, Mabille does include voluminous shapes and vapory homages in the collection as well. This writer admits to a particular weakness for the gowns with the giant bow sculptures, crystal encrustations and volumes. He creates for the woman of near unlimited financial means and who wants to be active, energetic and elegant. Though to the less experienced eye, some looks may seem to be out of step with the majority of the collection. This unfortunately may result some believing that the collection appears to be a bit all over the place.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The sequined looks are of course the most exciting looks in the collection. Mabille uses them to create three spectacular looks. The first is a tight-fitting buster gown in petrol blue; a corset string bustier gown with open flaps that recall of lapels; and long sleeved black gown with white embellishments at the shoulders and back. Though the hot pink jumpsuit is one of the elements that does not reflect the overall tone of the collection, its lapels do recall do make the case of the unison that defines the overall spirit.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Yes it is true that the black gowns with large floral prints are exquisite. However, they pale in comparison to some of the other gowns such as the one in white which is draped at the hip and which has with a bow and finished with the long cape; the emerald green one shoulder gown with draped waist; the sheath gown in purple with corseted bustier and single large lapel; and the final gown.
