<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Paris, France</strong> – Spring/Summer 2017 has the irrepressible Galliano woman shifting gears and showing two very distinct sides of her personality. First we find a tougher, more street wise woman. And then we find a very uninhibited sexy side of her. It is nearly like watching twins with opposite, yet with very understanding and accepting mindsets.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Bill Gaytten, artistic director at John Galliano, starts with large, nearly masculine trousers. He pairs them with either delicate tops with revealed lingerie pieces or with sports inspired jackets later in the collection. But the visible bras are just the tip of the iceberg in our discovery of the other aspect of the dual personalities present. The lingerie elements move in immediately and dominate.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We find more lingerie pieces such as the hot pants worn outside as shorts or with the sheer or lace dresses. These dresses then go on to be composed entirely of delicate laces. Soft blue, white, translucent white and black ! And in some of these which are primarily composed of silk and silk chiffon, we fine delicate embroideries.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Though the house of John Galliano is forging its own style direction this season, it does manage to slip in a look that is a wink of the eye to the current frenzy for ruffles. Only one dress really can boast of being part of the craze. Other than that, we do find a few subtle hints here and there of the massive trend, which are generally found on the sleeves of other dresses. But other than that, this is a collection that has pretty much ignored the rufflemania! And Galliano’s option is good for fashion as not everyone will want to look like everyone else in the street.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Paris, France</strong> – After a long walk in the wilderness, the John Galliano woman is finally back !!! She made an exciting appearance in Paris during the Fall Winter 2016/17 fashion shows. And her much too long waited return does not come a moment too soon.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Artistic director Bill Gayten explained that the collection has returned more to its roots. We find romantic elements, the military codes, the proportions, etc. The silhouettes include coats with large collar, bands, chord embroideries that have been placed on the creations as very visible details and layering, etc.. The dresses sometime take on an empire bust, before dropping to the ankles of the models.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a fierce mixture of soft peaks and strong structure in the designs. They are achieved through the back-and-forth between the silks, satins, cashmeres, knits, laces. They show the complexity and the sometimes duality of our heroine’s personality.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Embroideries, sheers, laces, and boxer-like shoes are the standouts. Singer/actress Kelly Rowland, who was among the myriad of stars to attend the show, commented that the little boots are on her list of purchases for the season.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><em><strong>Paris, France</strong> – </em> The Spring/Summer 2016 collection at John Galliano is inspired by the house’s roots originating in Great Britain. In it we see several references to British history as well as to modern-day London. The work portrays a unique mixture of statuesque uniforms with British rock and intimate lace work.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As the models walk down the runway we see lots of blazers and trousers with strong lines, creating a powerful and edgy feel. The cuts are perfectly tailored to the female body, and the materials follow effortlessly. On the other hand, we also see a lot of delicate transparent laces with subtle embellishments. These inherently feminine designs are edged up with Brit-inspired caps, flat shoes and a badass attitude!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Other notable designs include the romantic cocktail dresses with a deeply plunging V necklines. There are several Brit-inspired checkered suits and long organza dresses that flow beautifully over the catwalk. A returning leitmotif is the use of polka dots, which can be found in most of the outfits.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The use of color is mainly black & white. However, there are several color accents such as beige, blue, army green and bright orange. The house’s artist directory, Bill Gaten, manages to create a coherent overall style by playing with these color accents throughout the presentation. The make-up and the hair are very neutral with an emphasis on brushy brows.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">While the John Galliano fashion house is commonly known for its over-the-top carnaval-like flamboyancy and eccentric style. This Spring/Summer 2016 collection is more subtle and can immediately be taken to the streets. A piece of London was present in Paris today, and the lovers of British fashion will be standing in line for this unique collection.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Paris, France</strong> – Maison Martin Margiela (MMM) has decided to unveil its next haute couture collection in London just on the tails of the men’s fashion week there. This will be the first collection signed by the house’s new artistic director, John Galliano. The show will be the most exciting thing to happen in London’s fashion circle since Tom Ford’s arrival and his decision to set up show there.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The choice to show in London instead of Paris may prove to be a wise one from a strategic point of view. Mr. Galliano (born <b>Juan Carlos Antonio Galliano-Guillén)</b> has many loyal friends among London’s fashion elite. There his friends like supermodel Kate Moss and others never abandoned him like many in Paris did during the firestorm that engulfed him in a very public ouster from the artistic director’s helm at Christian Dior, which began on February 25, 2011.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Anna Wintour brokered a one-shot deal for Galliano in New York City to create a collection for Oscar de la Renta. However, MMM is taking a risk by being the first important European house to welcome Galliano back. Some in France, speaking both on and off the record, still find forgiveness a bit difficult to accord to Galliano for his human errors that he attributed at the time to both “stress” and “multiple addictions”.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The decision to not show in the city of lights will certainly be a loss to Paris . Since the designer last showed in Paris the John Galliano fashion house in January 2011, Paris Fashion Weeks have arguably suffered from a lack of kinetic-like energy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But one thing is for sure. All eyes will be waiting with great anticipation to see John Galliano’s work for Maison Martin Margiela. And with a strong showing in London, it will only help Paris prepare for his inevitable triumphant return in July 2015.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The London show is scheduled for January 12, 2015 around at tea time or somewhere between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Paris, France</strong> – In a clear sign of the times, legendary fashion editor Anna Wintour attended the BRITISH FASHION AWARDS at the London Coliseum. She wore a Maison Martin Margiela gown created especially for her by the house’s new artistic director and dear friend John Galliano. <p style="text-align: justify;">Ms. Wintour was on hand to accept the Outstanding Achievement Award. The dress is from the house’s haute couture department. She looked remarkably well in the “Black Tulip” embroidered bias cut dress. The look is completed with a simple cape inspired by Flemish painters and tulips.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The dress and Wintour’s unwavering support of Galliano during his darkest hours could be all-telling for what is to come at the house of Margiela.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Only a year ago a VERY RELIABLE SOURCE at Maison Martin Margiela disclosed in private to <em>TheFashionInsider.com</em> that sales there were not only disappointing but dismal, and that the rue de Grenelle boutique in Paris had failed to reach even one-third of its sales objectives.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Then upon the official announcement of Galliano’s appointment to the house, many wondered if the Galliano would be a “good fit” for such a house known for its suffocating discretion.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">At Maison Martin Margiela one should not expect Galliano to put on the sort of entertaining shows for which he was known during his tenure at Christian Dior.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">However with lagging sales at the iconic brand, a hefty (but measured dose) of Galliano will most certainly prove to be exactly what the good doctors would prescribe in order to ensure the iconic house’s future and commercially viability.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">And with that said, we are all anticipation and excitement as we wait with baited breath for Galliano’s first official collection at Margiela.</p>

<p><b></b><b>Paris, France</b> – Over the past years, the Galliano woman has been on a roller coaster of adventures that has included its fair share of mishaps. She has been battered, bruised and even misunderstood at times. But she has always proven herself to be resourceful. Her resilience is appears to be without natural limits in the new Fall Winter 2014/15 at John Galliano.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This season artistic director Bill Gaytten presents a collection worthy of his long noted talents. Beautiful sculpted silhouettes that define the body in seemingly new ways. Square appliqués and tailored construction are invoked in order to create a trompe-oeil affect.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">He embellishes the looks with fox fur, velvets, crystal, mohair, knit, wool, neoprene, lurex waffle, double silk georgette and double-face jersey. He works with a wide color palette that includes pale blue, cream, cocoa, burgundy, navy, cream, pink, etc.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The bustier is the clear star in the collection, and it appears in several variations. Her skirts are full and their waist is high. Her coats are done in beautiful prints. Together they join forces to make for what is arguably the best collection to date signed by Gayten since taking over the label. And for this, he was well rewarded with thunderous applause.</p>
