Jones</strong></p> <p><strong>Photos Courtesy of Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture</strong></p> <p><strong>Paris, France</strong> – Last night at the 2017 <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/music/tagged/billboard-music-awards" data-ylk="itc:0;elm:context_link;" data-rapid_p="8">Billboard Music Awards</a> in Las Vegas, superstar Canadian songstress Céline Dion brought the house down and the audience to its feet as she performed her most memorable tune yet, “My Heart Will Go On”, the theme song from the <em>Titanic.</em></p> <p>On this occasion at the T-Mobile Arena at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand, Céline Dion simply slayed as she took to the stage in a masterpiece haute couture creation by the French grand couturier Stéphane Rolland. The long figure-flattering gown is in created in white silk crepe. The long-sleeved, plunging V-neckline dress features billowing, cloud-like architectural shoulders created in silk gazar. The look is completed with large, metallic art decor encrusted embellishments. She decided to accent the dress with simple and understated diamond earrings and her diamond wedding ring. To finish out her look, she went with natural looking <a href="https://laura-webber.com/">makeup</a> and decided to wear her hair swept back from her face and pulled into a simply and elegant bun.</p> <p>In recent years, Céline Dion has experimented with haute couture from houses such as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Schiaparelli. But this really is arguably one of her all-time best if not the best ever! The dress is a staple in the house of Stéphane Rolland’s current Spring/Summer 2017 haute couture collection. Their presence influences the grand couturier this season as he seek to create new emotions in his work. Like the first, Rolland feels that the body is indeed a messenger of real expressions. This is a direct notion that is perfect for conveying the aesthetic spirit of he who is renowned for the harmony that he achieves between his pure lines and voluminous structures.</p> <p><em>“Brancusi, with his ovoid sculptures, inspires me to aim at anatomic precision, asymmetrical the birth of the world,” says Rolland. “Thus, monumental, yet slender dome gazar and faille dresses come into being, along with flowing hoods shaped like proud manes or pure gold halos surrounding the bust.”</em></p> <p>The Spring/Summer 2017 collection sees Stéphane Rolland doing what he does best. That is to say, we discover him creating sublime, elongating silhouettes that leave women breathless. Here he works with his fetish silk crepes and wool silk & crepe combinations. Chiffon, gazar and and organza are used to create the profound depth of the sculptural embellishments that are needed in order for a gown to truly be worthy of Rolland’s attention. Dominated by his fetish black and white, he shows why his work is always considered some of the most red carpet friendly in the business.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">When a woman goes through the long and sometimes arduous process of getting her own piece of perfection known as the haute couture, she wants to make a statement. And she gets that with the silhouettes created by the grand couturier. He focuses on three important aspects. First we find elegant, long and conservative silhouettes that trace the majority of the body from the arms down to the legs. Then we find geometrical cutouts that show the flesh. And where cutouts are not called up, Stéphane Rolland employs sheers to reveal the skin. The final element in the construction of the collection comes in the form of Stéphane Rolland’s irresistible volumes. They are the final component in bringing forth the drama.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">It’s actually fun to see how he combines rich textures to create his magic. Here we find crepe, chiffon, silk and even jerseys used in the composition of his gowns.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">This season the grand couturier also introduces us to his new work with furs. Instead of simply creating the expected coats, shawls and stoles, Stéphane Rolland uses his mink and fox to create long capes and even skirt overlays. In his new Spring/Summer 2016 work, we find the pleat transformed into something regal. With it his creates a feminine, graceful and magnificent opus that is worthy to pay tribute to the grandiose woman.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">First the couturier pulls us into his private salons where the show takes place. The presentation is an old school staging from the golden era of haute couture. Each model is presented with a number. And we hear a voice announcing the details of each look.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Sticking to the neutral colors such as white, black and beige, the grand couturier has designed a timeless silhouettes that include several red accents as showstoppers. The most impressive gowns are done with wide, layered pleated skirts. He employs the pleats as a true sign of impressive craftsmanship. Nevertheless, the rest of the collection is also brilliantly crafted with lots of wavy organza layering, silk trails, and huge skirts in tulle. It is obvious that Stephane Rolland pulls most of the attention to the bottom of the dresses. There one can see the beautiful movements as the models walk – or rather ‘flow’ – over the catwalk.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Returning motives throughout the presentation are long trails, open backs, shimmering materials, diamond applications, and many layers. An interesting contrast in the collection comes in the application of nude spikes on the tops. The fact that the spikes are nude removes the expected “rock” feeling. And thanks to that, the two top with them maintain their grace… very well done! Another notable outfit is the all white jumpsuit with a transparent organza top and a long trail attached to it. With it once again Stephane Rolland shows us that timeless classics can be modernized.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Haute Couture</em> is not a label just any designer can give to a collection. It must be earned. Stephane Rolland most surely proves that he is worthy of his title of grand couturier. His keen combination of impressive craftsmanship, the understanding of the female body and a vision on modern classiness makes his designs individual yet cohesive artworks. For the occasion, she wore a white woollen, short sleeved gown with hand painted gauze embroidery from the Spring/Summer 2015 collection by famed French grand couturier Stéphane Rolland.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Can you say <em>EXPLOSIVE</em>? The fashion icon showed up for the Martell Cognac event at the Chateau de Versailles wearing a daring jumpsuit in white and black gazar jersey.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">While Knowles is in France, it comes as no surprise that Stéphane Rolland’s haute couture salons are a top stop on her to-do list. Jones</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Photos Courtesy of Stéphane Rolland</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Paris, France</strong> – Grand couturier Stéphane Rolland takes us to the Maison de Radio for the presentation of his new haute couture collection for Spring/Summer 2015. This time he is incorporating new materials like plastic in order to create new forms and shapes that allow him to reveal more while still remaining elegant.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Here Rolland takes us back to his very first solo presentation. That is to say that he has renewed with the beautiful, large but soft draping, the pure lines in the jumpsuit and dramatic volumes that give life to the ballroom gowns. These have always been a part of his universe but today, it seems as though he is going back to his true roots in the way that he is putting them under the spotlight.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">He opens with a slight silk chiffon gown in white. It has a large volume and nude back which allows to showcase other details. This volume would go on to be a staple in the collection. From there we see a long black ball gown that stops several inches above the ankles. The left side has beautiful draping, and it is finished with a small thin sleek belt in black.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Personally this writer is in love with his black jumpsuit in crepe. He does it with long sleeves, and spiffy rectangular backline and neckline. He emboldens its with light, sky firework embellishments on the shoulders in black jets. This rectangular neckline also returns in many looks in the collection too.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">As the show neared its end, Rolland sent forth several huge ballroom gowns. They are sumptuous, generously cut and divine. As the models that were lucky enough to be chosen to wear them moved through space and time, all one could do was sit in amazement at the genius of Stéphane Rolland.</p> <div id="attachment_6291" This Fall/Winter 2014 outing sees Rolland bringing velvets, net materials and sweeping tails for a very cohesive collection.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The collection is literally held together at the waist with very thin gold belts. When a belt is not present, we see gold chains used to embellish aspects of the silhouette in a very sensuous manner. Though the butterfly is not the leitmotif, one cannot help thinking about it, particularly as one sees the silhouettes placed in motion through space and time.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The collection does has no obviously draped pieced. The cocktail dresses appear in halter form. They are cut below the knees and feature lots of detailing.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Yellow, black and white are the favorite colors of Rolland. He uses them in his silhouettes cut with open backs. Some shapes are like a futuristic takes from Cardin even Corrèges. Strict lines crop the body starting in high collars and continuing all the way down to ankles and wrists. However, layers slowly begin to peel back exposing bare flesh through cut outs and sheer veils. In some silhouettes, sharply angled vinyl has grown to jut out like elegant patterns of broken glass, which contrasts the fluidity of long sleeves that trail like the fins of a butterfly koi.
