WITH AN OBNOXIOUS DOSE OF BLING, HOW COULD PHILIPP PLEIN POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

Milan, Italy – For the unveiling of his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, Philipp Plein put on the biggest and most obnoxious display of in-your-face bling and excess that the catwalks of Milan have ever known. And guess what? We loved every second of it! And with Las Vegas as his inspiration, how could Philipp Plein possibly go wrong?
To say that Philipp Plein loves “bling” is a gross understatement, as he readily admits. His setting is a glamorous casino complete with a giant slot machine where you can also play it online in sites like defpen.com.
This collection does not run short of bling. Studded perfecto jackets, crystal embellishments everywhere, skulls and zippers all over the place make for excitement. Street tailored suit; large, baggy and sleeveless leather blazers, etc. all combine into a hectic eclecticism. Shorts in cotton jersey are made to look sexy, and power is giving to the trenches with their matching blazers. Bow ties jump into the mix as if by necessity.
One must appreciate their casting of sexy male models. This strikes a HUGE and much desired contrast to the sickly, pasty & ghostly appearing models seen in London only days ago.
The end of the show sees the entire cast of tattooed models return to the catwalk finale bearing their naked chests in one way or another. Some pranced on the runway in Philipp Plein underwear as other just came out wearing tailored blazers.
