Lisbon, Portugal – For Fall-Winter 2014/15 Alexandra Moura strikes a decidedly darker tone in her work. This is a whole new look and feel for the Portuguese designer as she has decided to give depth to volumes.
The men’s shapes are long with extremely voluminous knee-length shorts. Twenty-gallon hats as seen here are an attempt to remain relevant with the trends. The ladies silhouettes see geometric prints are woven into in the fabrics. We see this used in both in the women’s and in the men’s pieces.
She uses lots of drawstrings in the waist of the ladies tops and in the coats and dresses. She tosses in winter white, blue, grey, and accessorizes the whole thing with belts. Vertical pleating enters into the mix in her ladies top, which is so long is it that it could be a dress.
Some pieces are undoubtedly unisex. The cotton jersey sweat tops are for both sexes. The hats and the long scarves are as well.
Though not at all intended to be sexy, the collection is an easy fit into the wardrobe of urban youths.
