Paris, France – On the heels of its successful edition to celebrate the Spring/Summer 2015 collections, the Serbia Fashion Week (SFW) has announced the results of its most successful season.

Close to 14,000 guests either attended the fashion shows, pop-up stores, design week exhibition or participated in the conferences and other events organized by the Serbia Fashion Week. This is astronomically exponential growth from the first official SFW in April 2014 or from the “zero” edition of the SFW in October/November 2013.

Taking place from October 14 – 19, 2014 at the Park Hotel in the city of Novi, 25 designers presented their new ready-to-wear and men’s collections. Top Serbian names including Zvonko Markovic, Marija Sabic, Bata Spasojevic, Mladen Baron and Vasilije Kovacevic. Rising designers Marina Micanovic and Danijela Bozic also carried the Serbian flag high with their exciting new collections.

Among the top international designers to show their new collections were Andrea Lazzari (Italy), Malgrau (Poland) and Florin Dobre (Romania). The pioneering and legendary Serbian designer Verica Rakocevic and French couturier Eymeric François from Paris also showed their collections as special guest designers.

During the events, the SFW crowned Zorica Jadranski as the winner of the finals of the first edition of the Fashion Talents Design Competition. Presided over by former Jean-Paul Gaultier C.E.O, Mr. Donald Potard, the young designer will represent Serbia at the June 2015 edition of the Fashion Clash competition in Maastricht, Netherlands.

SFW received Mayor Onno Hoes from the city of Maastricht, Netherlands as its special guest of honor. Mayor Hoes participated in the SFW International Educational Conference Series. He spoke on his vast experiences relating to how city governments and cross-referential businesses may work together with fashion events in order to promote job creation, grow the economy, spread culture and encourage tourism.

The celebrated French photographic artist, Thomas Devaux, was the special guest international artist during the SFW Design & Applied Arts Week. With exhibitions of his work in Paris, Los Angeles, Moscow, Beijing and Hong Kong as well as in South Korea, this occasion marked the first time that the Parisian artist accepted to show his work as part of a fashion festival.

And well-known Serbian sculpture Vlaldimir Labat Rovnjev showed his new work as an exceptional invitation from the Serbia Fashion Week. This marked the first time in years that Rovnjev has accepted to premiere his work in Serbia.

As part of its next phase of development, the SFW launched its guest buyers program. Buyers and fashion agents representing showrooms in London, Milan and Berlin attended the fashion week.

Journalists from the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Poland and Saudi Arabia attended. In addition to international television broadcasting through SFW partner FASHION ONE television, the fashion week will also be broadcast to a potential audience of more than 800 million persons in main land China. This is courtesy of the new deal that the SFW has made with broadcast partner, GXTV.

The next edition of the Serbia Fashion Week will take place from April 20 – 25, 2015. For SFW fashion shows and events photos and videos, please contact communication@serbiafashionweek.com. For interview requests with SFW President Svetlana Horvat please contact press@serbiafashionweek.com.
