Milan, Italy – Italian fashion star Ermanno Scervino has once again delighted us with a collection that is resolutely feminine, modern and light on the eyes. He combines simple ideas with beautiful materials. He executes his plans for them to a flawless point of excitement.
In the collection we find lots of silk, silk brocades and laces. He uses a very special French lace known as la dentelle de Calais in certain silhouettes. This is a very delicate and sexy lace that is generally reserved for the confection of women’s lingerie and intimates. However, Ermanno Scervino uses them to create special ensembles that ooze femininity, freshness and an air légèrté !
He fills the collection with tight fitting sheath dresses which reveal the arms, the shoulders and sexiness of the collar bone. Like many designers, Scervino understand perfectly well that as a woman ages, the last thing to fall on her body are indeed the shoulders. So here he designs his dresses to show them off like a prized trophée.
Also in the mix our hero adds loves jumpsuits that take inspirations from garage suits. He bands the ankles with elastic and feminizes them further with high-heeled sandals.
His colors include silver, white, pastel yellow and neutral tone or two. And then there is the dramatic and unexpected splashes of red that he brings into two or three ensembles. He includes a number of short set and fabrics that have laser-cut motifs removed. In the end we find Ermanno Scervino providing us with some to the season’s most elegant and attractive choices for the cosmopolitan sophisticate.
