Washington, DC – First Lady Michelle Obama looked like the red carpet queen and style icon that she is as she dazzled nights ago in a black Vera Wang original gown. Mrs. Obama wore the dress at a lavish official state dinner to welcome the Chinese president Xi Jinping and his wife  Peng Liyuan

The Vera Wang gown is a black off-the-shoulder sheath gown. The gown has a V-panel removed from the bust and in order to reveal just the right amount of cleavage. And it is finished with soft silk chiffon draping on the shoulders.

Though Michelle Obama looked amazing in the gown, she has received mean-spirited commentary.  Some in the blogosphere criticize the gown as being too “Hollywood” and “inappropriate” for an official state dinner. But that just goes to prove the point that continues to prove itself time and time again: “HATERS ARE GOING TO HATE!”

Why? Well, because they are haters and that’s what haters spend their time doing.

And no matter what Mrs. Obama is the most stylish American fashion icon since Jacqueline Kennedy. And her only contemporary rival in that category would be France’s former First Lady and Mrs. Obama’s dear friend the former supermodel, Mrs. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
