Paris, France – Showing the world a new point of view designer Masha Ma presented her collection for Spring/Summer 2016 during Paris Fashion Week.

The visible inspiration behind the new work is the rave culture once made popular in the 90’s. The clothes are edgy and synthetic. The designer experiments with deconstructing forms, mixed volumes and textures. It seems that the author wanted to rebel against her regular self, break the rules and create a new, raw form of expression.

On the catwalk one could see cropped tops, long coats, asymmetric skirts, jackets, flared pants, mini and maxi dresses. Some of the garments have overly elongated sleeves and big lapels. Current trends appear with sheer tops and fringed skirts. The silhouettes are diverse from tightly tailored , thought oversized extending from the body and shredded deconstruction.

The main materials used are leather, lamé, cotton, knitwear and synthetic, laser-cut fabrics. The colors are white, grey, black, midnight blue, aqua and the futuristic galaxy motif.

The collection as a whole is a little overdone, which happens when a brand wants to change its course. We can only wait to see how this new energy will develop.
