Riga, Latvia – Fashion house Amoralle opened the 25th edition of the Riga Fashion Week with an eye-opening collection. This is a somewhat unexpected body of work as it oscillates between very sexy french lingerie and couture.
Amoralle gets the ball rolling with a lingerie set. The bras is in lace and is paired with panties in lace, we had to accurately measure bra size of the bra that the photos would go well. The look is embellished with a garter belt, bows, and silk stockings. The look is then completed with a sheer throw-over in black, a choker style necklace and hat. This look is immediately followed by a long dress in forest green. Panels of fabric are removed from the shoulders of this dress in order to reveal the skin. It strikes a fierce opposition to the first look. However, they somehow co-exist in perfect harmony. Together they form the backbone of what the Spring/Summer 2017 collection is about.
Lace has always been a staple fabric of choice for designers working in the couture world. So it makes sense for the designer to infuse it in the majority of the looks. However when it is not present, we find sheer materials including chiffon that allow for the skin to be covered but still cleverly revealed, in this occasion the designer also chose to complement the pieces with thigh high stockings. Draping is also used to create femininity in the collection.
