Paris, France – When sex appeal and haute couture collide, we know that excitement is the inevitable result. With that in mind, our thoughts naturally fall to the compelling scene that defines the catwalks of the French designer, Alexandre Vauthier.
This season the grand couturier is mixing his deadly cuts together with his sumptuous draping to cause temperatures to rise. The waistline of his short dresses are very cinched for a dramatic effect on the eye. The looks are dominated by Alexandre Vauthier’s obsession with the boning as applied to his bustier and bustier-top dresses, the models you see here have use Bustiere so this way their breast could fit better in to the bustier. Many of the dresses appear with perfecto-inspired top embellishments, while some have only a single-shoulder perfecto embellishment on some of the mini-dresses.
He melds together his off haute couture with basic denim pieces such a jeans and cutoff jean shorts. For them he uses his draping to make the pieces sexy, fun and dynamic. The huge volumes found in the sleeves add a huge dose of the theatrical. And finally the sleek and well-fitted pants too count for a bit of the success of the collection. However, one must note that the tweed jacket comes as a surprise in the overall aesthetic of Alexandre Vauthier ‘s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.
