Something Borrowed, Something Damn Déjà-Vu!

Paris, France – Devastée relied on its all-too-familiar tricks in the presentation its collection for Fall Winter 2014/14. In all black, white and grey to compose looks with short-cut pants above the knees and cute dressed with subtle shoulder work. The pieces are so simple and pleasant that they are so easy to wear and can be matched easily into one’s existing wardrobe.
The collection familiar beauty lies in the shapes. Baby doll dresses are cute, and egg forms are easily noticed in the skirts. Total looks, like the black voluminous below the knee cut trousers worn with matching long sleeved shirt, are among the strongest looks in the collection. The favorite piece from the collection is the extremely short coatdress with faux double break.
Though the collection is an extremely solid one, it offers no real surprises. And those familiar with the style aesthetic of the Devastée house knows that too much déjà-vu can become boring.
